Hi, gstreamer plugins maintainers
I have unarchived this bug report to add more info on it. Not yet
reopened it for jessie because I am not fully sure that is is the one
to blame.
I am having some problems in jessie similar to those reported in this
bug report, although they are not yet as

Hi,
I can confirm that removing gstreamer1.0-plugins-bad solves the issue
here. (Btw, upgrading to the 1.5.90-1 version from Experimental

I was wrong and Guillaume right: updating to the Experimental version
worked here too.

Hi, This may well be the same gstreamer1.0-plugins-bad problem

Indeed, updating gstreamer1.0-plugins-bad to the experimental version
solved this problem
Package: iceweasel
Version: 40.0.3-3
Followup-For: Bug #788708
Hi everyone!
Since a recent upgrade, Iceweasel has been crashing regularly whenever
a video is loaded (eg on youtube pages). The crash happens immediately
and no part of the video is shown.
I'm on Sid but tried different Iceweasel
This is still happening as of today ; i however don't have the problem
with chromium (v44.0.2403.157-1 from sid repository)
I have the same issue on sid ; iceweasel (version 38.2.1esr-1) segfault
anytime i attempt to load a video (so on youtube for example). This
happened after my last dist-upgrade yesterday ; here's the apt history
(sadly there was a lot of packages involved so it's kind of messy)

This looks at first glance like some GStreamer element(s) could not be
created, such as appsink, maybe others too; possibly because the
required GStreamer plugins are not installed. Combined with insufficient
error handling.
I note that this bug was reported against an iceweasel version that uses
can't reproduce using 38.2.0esr-1~deb7u1
Package: iceweasel
Version: 38.0.1-2~bpo70+1
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable
Visiting http://www.babyhalbstark.ch/POPnROLL/SO_KLINGTS.html causes Iceweasel
to crash, printing these messages (when run in gdb):
(iceweasel:746): GStreamer-CRITICAL **: gst_bin_get_by_name:
