Dear Debian Developers, I have a 512MB DataTraveller Flash Disk. It is automounted under ubuntu but fails to automount under debian. Has ubuntu patched things up to get this result? Can this not be achieved under debian? There is no problem automounting other kinds to flash/thumb drivers! 90% of them work/automount. I get a little strange kind of log (as follows) when debian fails to automont flash drives. $ /sbin/fdisk -l ------------------------------ Disk /dev/sda: 513 MB, 513802240 bytes 16 heads, 32 sectors/track, 1960 cylinders Units = cylinders of 512 * 512 = 262144 bytes Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System /dev/sda1 * 1 1960 501744 e W95 FAT16 (LBA) Disk /dev/sda1: 2082.3 GB, 2082317979648 bytes 16 heads, 32 sectors/track, 7943412 cylinders Units = cylinders of 512 * 512 = 262144 bytes Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System /dev/sda1p1 * 1 1960 501744 e W95 FAT16 (LBA) ------------------------------ $ tail -f /var/log/messages ------------------------------- Jul 14 16:45:29 localhost kernel: usb 5-8: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 6 Jul 14 16:45:29 localhost kernel: scsi6 : SCSI emulation for USB Mass Storage devices Jul 14 16:45:34 localhost kernel: Vendor: Kingston Model: DataTraveler 2.0 Rev: 1.04 Jul 14 16:45:34 localhost kernel: Type: Direct-Access Jul 14 16:45:34 localhost kernel: SCSI device sda: 1003520 512-byte hdwr sectors (514 MB) Jul 14 16:45:34 localhost kernel: sda: Write Protect is off Jul 14 16:45:34 localhost kernel: SCSI device sda: 1003520 512-byte hdwr sectors (514 MB) Jul 14 16:45:34 localhost kernel: sda: Write Protect is off Jul 14 16:45:34 localhost kernel: sda: [CUMANA/ADFS] sda1<5>sd 6:0:0:0: Attached scsi removable disk sda ______________________________ Please suggest.
