* Package name : python-fpconst Version : 0.7.2 Upstream Author : Gregory R. Warnes <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> * URL : http://research.warnes.net/projects/rzope/fpconst/ http://www.python.org/dev/peps/pep-0754/ * License : Apache License, Version 2.0 Programming Lang: Python Description : Utilities for handling IEEE 754 floating point special values This python module implements constants and functions for working with IEEE754 double-precision special values. It provides constants for Not-a-Number (NaN), Positive Infinity (PosInf), and Negative Infinity (NegInf), as well as functions to test for these values. -- The fpconst module is packaged within the python-soappy package at the moment, which I have adopted with Ed Boraas' agreement. There're a few reasons to package the small module as an extra package: * It is useful on it's own * there's no upstream development on python-soappy anymore, you're supposed to use python-zsi instead - one less reason to install SOAPpy to have fpconst * fpconst is PEP 754 and will be included in a coming python release, hopefully. It wouldn't make sense to ship python-soappy with a module which is included in the standard modules * I think Debian is the only distrib which does not ship a python-fpconst package yet. -- Bernd Zeimetz <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> <http://bzed.de/> -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
