Forgot to add that I'm using using `unstable' repos. Another observation: Using ping adding an http:// in front of the address produces an unknown host -- wam:/home/waqar# ping -c 3 www.google.com PING www.l.google.com (216.239.37.104) 56(84) bytes of data. 64 bytes from va-in-f104.google.com
