we want to connect Thunderbird with LDAP to have access to the mailaddresses of
all teachers and pupils.
Is this possible? Where can I find a how to?

You cann add a new address book of type LDAP in the addressbook view.
If you want autocompletion, you can choose one LDAP account

That's hard to say without knowing what you have done. Can you provide a

The Debian Edu LDAP data base doesn't contain email addresses.
