I believe I found the cause of failing USB disk handling and several other
problems with the diskless workstations. After some reordering of code
in ltsp-make-client, update-rc.
Installed LTSP+Tjener, using image from sunday 10. jan.

Using real hardware (acer aspire one), and booting it as diskless workstation,
I had no problems login in. It is ofcourse necessary to add the machine to the
workstations group in ldap so that it could mount the homedir.

I am unable to reproduce this. Can any of you that are able to reproduce it
try to run debian-edu-test-install as root on the thin client, and
report any errors detected?

I believe I managed to find the cause of this. ltsp-make-client insert
'@include common-pammount' in /etc/pam.d/kdm, and this refer to the
non-existing
file /etc/pam.d/common-pam

Yes, I meant diskless workstation.
Could the problem be that nslcd isn't running? I ran into this problem
on a non-default network setup, where the SRV entries were missing and reverse
DNS lookup of the diskless workstation IP address failed.

old/wrong certificate
after deleting the certificate on the ltspserver and rebooting, ldap on
ltspserver works.
so it must be a problem of the diskless workstation
the diskless workstation can't establish the connection in the first place
slapd listens on 0.0.0.0:389 which is correct
