Package: gcc
Version: 3.0.1-7
Severity: normal
The gcc package fails to build a sourcecode with the flag -Wlarger-than-32768.
Without this flag the source builds OK. Package to test this with is
wav2cdr-2.3.3-1 in the debian archive.
Cheers,
B.

why do you propose gcc-3.0 as the "user compiler"? setting the "system
compiler" to something other than the "user compiler" would break
every C++ related development environment.

I have exactly the same problem on this system. I've already tried Ben's
suggestion of purging all gcc-3.0 stuff and re-installing, and I still get
the error.

Unpacking gcc-3.0-sparc64 (from

ok, moved
Installing:

to pool/main/g/gcc-3.0/libstdc++3-dev_3.0.1-0pre010801_hppa.deb

Well, I couldn't find anything related in incoming, and
http://ftp-master.debian.org/~doko was an empty directory, and
~doko/gcc gave me a 404.

Matthias:
I'm running on a Sparc machine. Here's the output you requested.
[EMAIL PROTECTED] g++-3.0 -v
Reading specs from /usr/lib/gcc-lib/sparc-linux/3.0.1/specs
Configured with:
../src/configure -v --enable-languages=c,c++,java,f77,proto,objc --prefix=/u
sr --infodir=/share/info --mandir=/shar
The problem seems to be strip. See bug #107812.

no, not in incoming, but in ~doko/gcc on ftp-master.
