Unable to build GCC under Debian Etch x86_64

My dev host is a x86_64 machine and I am trying to build a cross-compiler for a i386 machine. I was able to successfully build the first stage or bootstrap GCC. However, I'm getting inexplicable errors when doing the final compilation. My command line is something like this: $
