I don't have an m68k machine, and crest is very slow, so I can't debug
this problem myself. Wouter Verhelst will be looking into it soon,
however.

this wrapper be removed as it does more harm than good,
and people who are interested in 64-bit libraries for SPARC are probably
able to figure out the compiler flags themselves.
