Package: java-gcj-compat-headless
Version: 1.0.80-5.1
Severity: important

Doing 'aptitude safe-upgrade' has left java-gcj-compat-headless
not-configurable. The
aptitude error is:

Setting up java-gcj-compat-headless (1.0.80-5.1) ...
update-alternatives: error: alternative rmiregistry can't be master: it is a
slave of java
dpkg: error processing java-gcj-compat-headless (--configure):
subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 2

Other packages are also left unconfigurable because they depend on
java-gcj-compat-headless.
These errors are reported every time I invoke aptitude.

I cannot uninstall java-gcj-compat-headless without removing important packages
like
openoffice.
