Note, this happens to me with python, sudo and several other programs
$ sudo
sudo: ../sysdeps/posix/getaddrinfo.c:1463: rfc3484_sort: Assertion
`src->results[i].native == -1 || src->results[i].native == a2_native'
failed.

Package: libc6

Severity: grave
First of all the libc6 upgrade fails segfaulting on every command. This
can be fixed (if one still has a root shell) using :
LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/lib/tls/i686/cmov /lib/tls/i686/cmov/ld-linux.so.2 \
/usr/bin/sudo /bin/cp /lib/tls/i686/cmov/ld-linux

dpkg -i /var/cache/apt/archives/libc6_2.3.1-17.0.1_powerpc.deb
(Reading database ... 196092 files and directories currently installed.)
Preparing to replace libc6 2.3.1-17 (using .../libc6_2.3.1-17.0.1_powerpc.deb)
...
Unpacking replacement libc6 .
