If you set locale settings using debconf-set-selections and then install the locales package it wipes out the configuration settings that you specified. This makes automated installation quite difficult. One needs special code for locales that interacts with the package directly. Is there any good reason for wiping out existing debconf setting when installing locales? regards, Richard. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (900, 'testing'), (800, 'unstable'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.18-53.1.13.el5PAE (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages locales depends on: ii debconf [debconf-2.0] 1.5.22 Debian configuration management sy ii libc6 [glibc-2.7-1] 2.7-13 GNU C Library: Shared libraries locales recommends no packages. locales suggests no packages. -- debconf information: * locales/default_environment_locale: en_US.UTF-8 * locales/locales_to_be_generated: en_US.UTF-8 UTF-8 Report will be sent to "Debian Bug Tracking System" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
