are the fans cleaned from dust?
when the fans do not spin up and the voltage gets stuck in the fans, the
HP somehow "monitors" the power circuitry and won't start.if you clean the fans
or remove their power sticks, the machine will boot.

we have another issue concerning the kernel i wanted you to know:
the standard linux kernels from www.kernel.org are not supposed to work.
we must either use the debianized parisc kernels via apt-get on a debian
box or download patched kernels from parisc-linux.org... one such kernel
is at
ample hold return addresses for functions in parisc.
altogether with these examples it should be possible to test and develop a
solution based on these vulnerabilities of the parisc system.
