I attemped to compile Samba recently, but the configure script complained that "locking" was not supported and that would make Samba "unsafe." What locking is the script referring to and what needs to be done in the Hurd to provide it? Also, has anyone compiled MySQL or PostgreSQL on the Hurd?

I received this e-mail - I am guessing aimed at my 11 year old son based on the gaming sites he visited and registered with. I once saw posts from an ethical hackers group that attacked servers that host predators. I was hoping to get this e-mail to such a group. Thanks for your help. Jay
