If a project is included in Debian, does that mean it compiles runs in
Hurd?
I wrote this program MultiTail
(MultiTail lets you view one or multiple files like the original tail
program. The difference is that it creates multiple windows on your
console (with ncurses). It can also use colors

No. It must not even compile run on all Linux architectures, although
this is of course a goal for common applications which are not
