Maybe. The only change would be that you run crosshurd instead of
untaring the tar-ball.
Crosshurd will ask you where the hurd partition is mounted and set it
up.

As of today the tar-ball for Debian GNU/Hurd that Marcus Brinkmann
made over the years have been discontinued in favour of Jeff Baileys
crosshurd package. So to install Debian GNU/Hurd from now on, please
use the crosshurd package avaiable in the Debian testing archive.

forgot to announce crosshurd here, so here goes:
Crosshurd is the replacement for Marcus' tarball system. The biggest
problem with the tarballs is that it fell quickly out of date.
Crosshurd is intended to solve this
