mod_auth_ldap and Umlaute

Hi, the Version 1.4-3 of libapache-mod-ldap seems to have some Problems with umlauts "üöä" and so on. It cuts the login names at the postion of the first umlaut... Are there any workarounds or packages with do ldap auth for apache with umlauts? Thanks in advance, ar Andreas Rab
