i have the same problem and i think it's a problem of version: quota
version 1 uses quota.user, version 2 uses aquota.user.
don't we have quotatools2 on Debian?

Iptables can block an specific MAC address with options
iptables -A INPUT -m mac --mac-source 00:00:00:00:00:01 -j DROP

I have successfully setup MySQL replication enviroment in several
clusters at work. The thing is that it is a little cumbersome proccess
as I have to make a snapshot of the databases in the master server
everytime and I have to stop the service in order to do it.
