Anyway, I'm sure you know all this. I just wanted to make a pitch for
storing your 5 (to 250+) hours worth of learning in an easily

Mark,
Thanks for posting this script. I've taken the liberty of putting it on
a Wikilearn page,
http://twiki.org/cgi-bin/preview/Wikilearn/MirroringAWebSite.
If you have any questions, concerns, comments, let me know, or modify
the page yourself, as it is a wiki (TWiki).
regards,
Randy
???
I'm a little late with this, but just thought that someone should
mention that there is some kind of limit on the number of partitions
per disk. It's something like 63 for IDE disks and 16 for SCSI disks
(but I could have that backwards).

of performance can you
get out of a Linux box serving as a router?? (Well, it is just within
the capability of a single 100 mbps Ethernet card, but it's a lot of
traffic.)

Sorry, I never went that path. Sounds
but we use cp
-a instead of tar or dd. The basic outline of the procedure is here:

We do plan to get that cleaned up some day (soon, I hope), but for now
it at least provides a basic record of what we're doing.

like Greg(ory) says, knowing the volume is important -- or at least
tell us what kind of connection you have to your ISP -- dial up ;-),
DSL, ISDN, Cable, T1, T3. If DSL or Cable, do you know what kind of
uplink and downlink bandwidth you are allowed (or use)?

Amen. Thank you!!

And, you did allude to this but I'd like to state it explicitly -- if
that I MB is that big because it is HTML, a Word .doc, or something
else that uses a lot of space without adding content, convert it to
plain text, and still put it on a website instead
