Hi Desbian, Can you please help me by telling how to make the spamassassin work in a webmin interface. Even after I have selected some addresses to check as spam, the scanning is not working the mail body or subject is not modified. The configuration file reflects all the changes that I have made in the webmin interface. Thanks Regards, Amrita Priyadarsini -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Well I have been playing with debian for a few weeks here, been messing with linux for about 2 yrs... still pretty new at all this. Mainly I use my linux installs for Apache/MYSQL and such. But as of recent my wireless router has been acting up, So I got the idea, why not make my extra box into a Wireless/Ethernet Router, with firewall and maybe a proxt server also. I am having a lot of problems finding what I need to make all this happen. Can anyone point me to some walkthroughs that might give me step by step on getting everything working, especially the wireless, its a DLINK Wireless card, and also the box has a 3com 10/100 and a Netgear 10/100 if that helps at all. I assume Shorewall would be the right firewall software, and prob Squid for a Proxy that will allow cacheing for my slow internet access that I have. NIGERIA NATIONAL PETROLEUM CORPORATION PETROLEUM AND PROJECT DIVISION TEL: +234-1-4702516 P.M.B 2071, LAGOS - NIGERIA. 9TH JULY, 2002 [EMAIL PROTECTED] DEAR SIR This letter is not intended to cause any embarrassment in whatever form, rather is compelled to contact your esteemed self, following the knowledge of your high repute and trustworthiness. Firstly, I must solicit your confidentiality, this is by the virtue of its' nature as being utterly confidential and top secret though I know that a transaction of this magnitude will make anyone apprehensive and worried, but I am assuring you that all will be well at the end of the day. A bold step taken shall not be regretted I assure you. I am Mr. Tony Okeke and I head a seven man tender board in charge of contract awards and payment approvals, I came to know of you in search of a reliable and reputable person to handle a very confidential business transaction which involves the transfer of a huge sum of money to foreign account requiring maximum confidence. My colleagues and I are top officials of the NIGERIA NATIONAL PETROLEUM CORPORATION {NNPC}. OUR DUTIES INCLUDE VETTING, EVALUATION AND FORESEEING THE MAINTENANCE OF THE REFINERIES IN ALL THE DESIGNATED OIL PIPELINES. We are therefore soliciting for your assistance to enable us transfer into your account the said funds. Our country losses a lot of money everyday that is why the international community is very careful and warning their citizens to be careful but I tell you A TRIAL WILL CONVINCE YOU. The source of the fund is as follows; during the last military regime here in Nigeria this committee awarded a contract of US$400million to a group of five construction companies on behalf of the NIGERIA NATIONAL PETROLEUM CORPORATION for the construction of the oil pipelines in Kaduna, Port-Harcourt, Warri refineries. During this process my colleagues and I deliberately inflated the total contract sum to the tune US$428million with the intention of sharing the inflated sum of US$28. The government has since approved the sum of US$428 for us as the contract sum, but since the contract is only worth US$400million, the remaining US$28million is what we intend to transfer to reliable and safe offshore account, we are prohibited to operate foreign account in our names since we are still in government. Thus, making it impossible for us to acquire the money in our name right now, I have therefore been delegated as a matter of trust by my colleagues to look for an oversea partner into whose account we can transfer the sum of US$28million. My colleagues and I have decided that if you/your company can be the beneficiary of this funds on our behalf, you or your company will retain 20% of the total sum US$28million while 75% will be for us the officials and remaining 5% will be used for offsetting all debts/expenses incurred during this transaction. We have decided that this transaction can only proceed under the following conditions: 1. That you treat this transaction with utmost secrecy and confidentiality and conviction of your transparent honesty. 2. That upon the receipt of the funds you will release the funds as instructed by us after you have removed your share of 20%. Please acknowledge the receipt of this letter using the above telephone and fax numbers. I will bring you into the nomenclature of this transaction when I have heard from you. Your urgent response will be highly appreciated as we catching on the next payment schedule for the financial quarter. Please be assured that this transaction is 100% legal/risk free, only trust can make the reality of this transaction. Best Regards, MR. Re: Unidentified subject!
This is very possible and indeed desirable. As you only have a T1 (T3+ would be different), I doubt you really have a lot to worry about, indeed I wonder if more than 2 servers is necessary, but anyway I use a similar setup to that you propose for WWW servers, which access backend DataBase and/or a large image archive. Doing this I've saved shed loads on hosting charges (actually co-location), because the backend servers don't require a budget for traffic, everything goes to/from the WWW servers, so I just pay for rack space. It is also desirable for security reasons, you can use ipchains to filter the Internet traffic, and use a private network (as per RFC1918) for the backend stuff. You simply add the interfaces, they'll appear as eth0, eth1, eth2 etc. Then you set up the config files, so they are assigned addresses and brough up on boot. You may consider a DLink 4port card, which provides 4 100Mb/s ports in one pci slot. They are cost effective for me, as it saves rack space and co-location charges. The 4 port allows me to use thin web servers (2U), rather than a standard 4U unit. Thin boxes offer more limitted expansion than deeper cases. With that card, you could actually (if your NAS had enough ports), dedicate with cross-overs a full 100Mb/s duplex net to each server, and still have enough ports for a more general backend net, without requiring extra switching hubs. Rob - Original Message - From: "R K" [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Thursday, October 26, 2000 11:40 PM Subject: Unidentified subject! hi, I'm not really familiar with the more obscure intricacies of unix networking... well, that is if this even really counts as obscure to some of you.. my problem is that i have a number of debian servers connected to the net via a T1. i would like all of these servers to share a rack of NAS (network attached storage) appliances. The problem I see in considering something like this is that traffic between the NAS and the servers would saturate the network and slow things down considerably. Is it possible to set up a second network (via two ethernet cards in all of the servers) that runs independantly of the primary network? Is this even a good idea? I was thinking that isolating data transfers to a dedicated network would help alleviate traffic on the front-side network. Something like how a SAN works except without all the proprietary hardware and software =). If it is possible (and even a remotely good idea) how would I configure routing, addresses, NFS, etc? I've never worked with a disconnected network before, so I don't know what rules change and how the IPs are set up, etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated, ryan _ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com.
