You can install two or more debs that contain same files with the following: dpkg -i --force-overwrite kfind_2.0.1-2.deb Assuming you have downloaded it, it will be in /var/cache/apt/archives if you used apt-get, if not just cd to where you have the deb. You might try this as well dpkg --force-he

When upgrading from the kde2.0.1 woody to kde2.1 I got a broken pipe, kdebase wouldn't install. This was because it had an icon also contained in kfind. I removed kfind, and then kdebase installed just fine. The error I get when trying to reinstall kfind is something like this: /usr/share/kfind
