You have to install kde-i18n, if you want all languages, or kde-i18n-langcode
(e.g. kde-i18n-de) for just a single language. Then you can choose in the K

Ack! Thanks for the reminder.
There is a statically linked version available at the main kdevelop
ftp site (1v3beta, iirc); I downloaded

Ivan, I get this problem as well for kde 2.0.1 potato. I just checked my
other machine where I did a traditional (non-Debian) build of kde 2.0.1, and
this problem doesn't occur. So I am pretty sure it is a Debian packaging
problem rather than an upstream problem.

You can install two or more debs that contain same files with the
following:
dpkg -i --force-overwrite kfind_2.0.1-2.deb
Assuming you have downloaded it, it will be in /var/cache/apt/archives
if you used apt-get, if not just cd to where you have the deb.
You might try this as well dpkg --force-he
When upgrading from the kde2.0.1 woody to kde2.1 I got a broken pipe, kdebase
wouldn't install. This was because it had an icon also contained in kfind. I
removed kfind, and then kdebase installed just fine.
The error I get when trying to reinstall kfind is something like this:
/usr/share/kfind

Has anyone tried to use korn to fetch mail from an IMAP server ? I haven't
been able to use it. It just... never probe the server. It only works with
local mail.

aw shit - this is my fault (probably) .
Hello,
I installed the newest kde2-packages for potato and now the shutdown and reboot
buttons from kdm do not work any more. The X-server is terminated but kdm then
hangs.
This is the what kdm logs when called with -nodaemon after pressing shutdown:

Hello :)
I'm using Storm Hail upgrade to Potato 2.2r2 and KDE2. I do an apt-get
dist-upgrade twice a day (usually) and this evening's produced a weird
situation.
Task-kde was held back by apt (?) and when I tried doing an apt-get -f
install task-kde I got:

Good day list,
I have somehow managed to lose the enhanced browsing items from konqueror.
What I do have are the entries altavista, google etc, but not the shortcut
setups for each item.
Is there any easy way of getting this back without having to re-type each
entry?

hi...
There is one thing that needs attention (IMO) at some point in time or
another...I really don't have the time (nor do I really know how to go about
doing it)...and that is getting the utmp pieces worked out for konsole.
I played around with it for a while during the 2.0.x run but using

I think you found a long standing oddity (only hitting some users)...I just
wish you had found it earlier. :)
I removed that piece of the postinst from both 2.0.1 and 2.1 a couple days
ago... :)
