I don't know what you last did, but the last dist-upgrade I did now flies compared to my previous KDE! The desktop loads in about half the time and everything is much quicker and snappier than before! Ivan ROCKS! Keep up the good work! Cheers, John Gay

midnight commander with KDE2

I am new to debian. I originally got potato with gnome and now have KDE2 which is my window of choice. From what I can see if I delete gnome I no longer have midnight commander. I used to use mc with kde when I ran suse 6.1. I want to run mc with kde2. any ideas???

What creates the network link tap0? How do I make sure it isn't created at boot time? If noone knows, what file would I put the magic command in to kill it, i.e. 'ifconfig tap0 down'? Shawn
