Hello,
The KBabel included in KDE 3.0.3 suffers from a bad bug that make it crash
very often and itis rather unusable.
So I've tried to build a new KBabel from source :
I've downloaded the latest source from
http://i18n.kde.org/tools/kbabel/download/
untar the sources in a directory
I did apt-

Thanks all for you reply's. As none of the things I tryed after your messages
works and as some of you say it is compiled in Xfree. This is really sad.
I made the transition to linux 2 years ago an I almost never touch any
windows boxes anymore since one of the things I really like about linux

That appears after the X window background - there's a few seconds delay
before that loads.

I'm pretty sure you should be looking at XFree86 instead of KDE/kdm.
Never thought about it, but I'd like to get a nice background instead of
those dots too, but that's the usual pic that's comes up when X starts.
