Worked for me, so far. Just drag an MP3 file on it and it

Nope, not for me either. I have never given it a second thought, due
to it always being "Microsoft Media" formats anyway.
If I can derive the URL, I just open it directly with XINE or mimms

kaffeine and kmplayer can do the job. kmplayer seems better in that case
(embedded in konqueror), and has been uploaded this week so it's in new
queue.
