it seems to have been the persons settings that didn't allow me to see their

Somehow my menus and file associations have been messed up in one user
account. How can I reset them? Moving .kde didn't seem to affect my menus.

the server gets its ip from the router, out of lazyness on my part. The
router seems to have the hostnames of attached devices, but strangely only
for athlon, and not my client. I haven't looked into how it's doing that
yet.

Im having a problem with a recently install of sarge on an Acer Laptop and KDE
from unstable (just upgraded). Im running the 2.6.9 kernel.
Without a network interface activated, everything works as expected. When I
activate a network interface I can ping externaly and to my local server. I

Just out of curiosity. Did you find any usefull information on getting your
sound system to work with alsa. I've installed the alsa packages and run
alsasetup (sorry I'm not sure if that's exactly what it was called), but I
still get oss modules loaded and a device error on boot. I can't seem
adding psmouse to /etc/modules solved the problem.

I'm running KDE 3.1.5 in a testing/unstable system.
I'm connecting to the internet with over ADSL and pppoe in demand mode. I've
checked the log files and there is less than a 5 sec delay between the first
ppp entry and the authenticated message after I try to check my mail with
Kmail. I
