I am using ktorrent 3.1.2 (Debian package) as well with KDE 3.5.9 and have no
issues. Torrents download normally and no crashes occur (none that I can
recall).
Did you try removing and reinstalling ktorrent using Synaptic?

Hello,
I've had working packages of KOffice 1.4.1 backported from Ubuntu, with
appropriate dependency changes and the like, since last week. I contact Mr.
Burton about using them, but he has some major plans for improving the
packaging IIRC.

From what I can see using Synaptic, the base KDE packages will be ready once
kdepim is done. I noticed that you have a few non debian-kde team packages
installed as well ( such as licq ).

Hello,
Normally if you are using a recent kernel ( anything newer than say 2.4.20 ),
simply installing hotplug ( and udev, though it isn't necessary ) should be
all you need. It will pickup the printer and load the needed modules ( usblp
and stuff ).
Here's what to do.

Hello,
I forgot to mention one thing previously: what version of udev is installed?
Up until a few releases ago, it created printer /dev/ entries with incorrect
permissions. I am not sure if the fixed version made it into sarge or not.

Hello,
If i remember right, it had something to do with dpkg translations. It is
fixed in unstable and will probably be in sarge soon, as it is a major bug.

I am here with KDE 3.3.1 from unstable and have no problems with DPMS.
Could you tell everyone a bit more about your config? like settings, etc.

Hi,
I was looking at incoming.debian.org ( to see what new packages were

know they've been tested in experimental for a bit, but i was wondering:
when they are in unstable ( likely in the next 24 hours i'm guessing ),

Awesome. Can't wait to try 'em out!
