P.S. the future "Debian Bikeshed's" infrastructure will fulfill an analogous role to Ubuntu PPAs. When it's deployed (no idea when this will be...not any time soon from what I can tell) it would be worth contacting the maintainer of Scribus to see if he/she is planning to do an unofficial backport
