I am trying to understand the reasoning behind Kopete's dependency on xmms. I
know the underlying reason is the functioality of some plugin (Now Listening)
that allows IM buddies to see what you're currently listening to.

i've been trying to figure out how to make antialiasing work on my
debian woody (xfree 4.2.1 + kde 3.1 + qt 3.1.1).
everything seems to be in order, i've got other X apps antialiased, even
kdm is aa'ed! yet the desktop refuses to comply...
only glitch is when i try to access kde's font mana

woody but as soon as X (4.2.1-0pre1v2) starts i get the two notorious messages
"Couldn't start kdeinit. Check your installation." and "Couldn't start
ksmserver. Check your installation." when i ok both, the xserver shut
