I guess the very strange KMail error mentioned in [1] is actually
described in [2], right? In any case, I can also confirm that in
testing, current kmail (4:4.4.11.1+l10n-1) with libsasl
( 2.1.24~rc1.dfsg1+cvs2011) is still broken. I've tried version
2.1.25 from [3], too, but it doesn't fix

Note up front: This is probably not only a problem with konqueror but also
with other KDE parts, but it hit me most with konqueror.
The problem is that konqueror caches files in /var/tmp/ from webbrowsing,
which are never cleaned up. I recently removed a

lnusertemp doesn't honour this environment variable and simply creates these

believe) there haven't been any menu entries for most KDE applications, like
dolphin, konqueror, knode and kmail. Interestingly k3b and ktorrent have menu
entries, but I believe

Since a few days, knode fails to send postings to at least some newsgroup. The
group in question that doesn't work is comp.lang.c++. A group that does work

changes there. 'ps aux' says the commandline is kompare -on -. The button

rest of my system is using UTF-8. Dolphin fails to handle files that are not
ASCII (the common subset) in such a setup.

konqueror and when reassigned to X.org it might get more of the required

Since some time, konqueror randomly activates its access keys, which is a bit
annoying, since the displayed tags often hide parts that you are currently
reading. Now, this is _nothing_ compared to how annoying this is when you are
currently filling
1. On the console, I get the same three call to deprecated.. messages.
2. The backtrace seems to be the same, too.
3. When I remove the folder ~/.kde/share/apps/kmail/imap I can start kmail.
Then, I get the three messages above, embedded in a plethora of
| kmail: WARNING: [void
I just tried with 3.5.1 from testing. Using 'info:/ln' redirects to
'info:coreutils/ln invocation', which is probably what the submitter wanted.

With a current Konqueror 3.5.1 from testing, newfriday.org renders correctly
with the TM sign. The fact that it rendered the TM sign as a black box also
rather indicates that the font doesn't have this sign or that it doesn't have
it in the proper size, not so much that Konqueror can't handle
I just retrieved and compiled kmail and tried to reproduce the bug - it was
pretty easy, the behaviour is the same. I finally found out that the dialog
asking for a passphrase is simply not as modal as it should be.
For the record, the call in libkpgp/kpgp.cpp is
PassphraseDialog

I just got a mail from Joachim Schiele that seems to have found a workaround
for the problem with the access. The problem seems to be stale lockfiles in
~/.kde/share/apps/kabc/lock. Removing the files (or the whole folder, it gets
recreated automatically) solves the problem.

daresay even longer than when the original bugreport was filed. I'm not
running any DE of any kind, just fluxbox or ion2 as windowmanager.
