In case you don't remember that CLI way, you can also simply look at the .deb
in KPackage and you can see where all of the package's files are to be
placed.
Another command way is to type which kwintv

Yes, I've tried and used xawtv. As a plain X application, it is quite good,
but I'm looking for the KDE version that fits

I might be wrong that its because of v4l for me it was just so that if i dont
"Load v4l" i have the black boarders and the picture that i see is 600x480
but if i add the modeline to xf86conf it works so to say out of the box on
real fullscreen.
Do you have the programs v4l-conf and v4lct

Pedro ... Thanks .. the fullscreen= worked I guess I shoud ratfm
(read ALL the @*&@99 manuals!). Actually it's in man xawtv. I will
still keep gvidm as I like easy change of resolution not only for
published image viewing but also to test my web pages under
development.

Sorry, this worked for XF 3.3.6 (xawtv -vm -xv), but not for XF 4.1.0.
See /usr/share/doc/xawtv/README.xfree4 for this. BTW, I have a tdfx,
support will only be there i

I think the story of KwinTV is documented here. Myself?
I run quite happily for years - xawtv. It runs beautifully
under KDE and any other window manager. It's fast, accurate
and is continually being updated (w/o breakage) and is available
(woody, sid) by apt-get xawtv
It's home pa

Kwintv was long unmaintained. Development started again some time ago.
Debs are at:

As far as I can tell it is still part of kdenonbeta, I will take a look
at it aft
I figured tha since the developers have changed since the last time I asked
this, I'll try again.
Where is KwinTV? My interest was brought back to this when Linux Format put
the latest sources on their cover CD. I ws able to use deb-make and debuild
to build a .deb and it actually buil

I was able to get task-kde-devel installed and tried to compile KwinTV.
./configure seemed to work, all the required directories were found, but make
fails at the very end when linking with the following:
/bin/sh ../libtool --silent --mode=link g++ -O2 -s -o kwintv -L/usr/lib
-L/usr/X11R6

You should try to load the tuner before going into X/loading framebuffe
I've seen it mentioned a few times, but where is KwinTV? I've got XawTV, but
I've got a tuner issue. I'd sure like to try KwinTV .
