It's the same problem here and I always use dselect which dist-upgrades
automatically. My installed kdebase* packages are:
ii kdebase2.0.1-0.potato KDE core applications
ii kdebase-crypto 2.0.1-1KDE core applications (Crypto modules)
ii kdebase-dev2.0.1-0.potato KDE core ap
My problem is the same and all version of debian/kde/xfree too!
so what is the solution ?

No...his problem is the other problem that has been discussed here...
Note the "I've got Debian GNU/Linux 2.2r2 / KDE 2.0.1 / XFREE 3.3.6"...he's
not running unstable/sid...he's running the 2.0.1 version of KDE on potato
and he updated his qt package.

I just had this problem and fixed it.
Your version of kdebase is probably old.
You need to upgrade it. and apt-get distupgrade did it for me.
However the same command broke my lilo.
So make sure you rerun lilo and check your lilo.conf so you can get back
into you system.
