First, applauds for this (yet again) packaging success of KDE4. I can only
quote linux magazine, "good things come to those who wait" [1]
I did an apt-get dist-upgrade on my sid-oriented-since-years box, here are the
few issues that came:
- Kaboom: All but one (the jabber one) Kopete contacts were not converted
- Dist-upgrade:
+ kwin did not get replaced. And it does not work very well within
KDE4, that was the case for me, not configurable. I wonder if there should be a
"Replaces: kwin" in addition to the "Conflicts: kwin" into the
kde-window-manager control file. "apt-get install kde-window-manager" fixed it.
+ konqueror family did not get upgraded - did not looked at why.
"apt-get install konqueror konq-plugins" fixed it.
Did not touch the installed packages, since then, and I see few KDE 3.5
renegades after the upgrade, see below.
I will try to remove them one by one in order to miminize eventual impact (can
very well be that I have additionnal dependencies because of other packages
that requires'em of course).
All in all, huge and remarquable work. KDE4 is great, btw.
