Hi, Since I upgraded from rc2 - rc3 KDED now makes the hard disc's head move every 500ms when it polls the filesystem. Before the upgrade, the polling was set to the same frequency, but there were no disc accesses -- presumably most polls are cached. Since I have a laptop, this completely
