I have a recent PowerMac G5 (3.0) 1.8Ghz Boot ROM Version 5.2.2f2. I'm
attempting to install Debian Sarge. The install-power4 kernel for the
weekly installer build boots, however, the installer complains that it
cannot find the CD-ROM drive. "ls -l /dev" shows

This kernel does not provide sound for the new Mac Mini. Others have
worked out a partial fix, and various lists give the following
suggestions.
The first possibility is:

I have a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro joystick. When I boot the machine
using the "sarge rc2" kernel as supplied from Debian, the system
freezes. Some apparently-related messages are on the screen at that

I have been monitoring kernel.org for any problems caused by the timer

Unfortunately, a couple of bugs have

Thanks, I
I see this bug is now 183 days old, but I fell into the same trap.
Recently, after upgrading to kernel-image-2.6.8-2-sparc64, The keyboard
got a wrong layout - pretty much every key know has another meaning.

The AGP change already went into Linus' tree, along with
removal of the _MCH driver.

I think after Vojtech's patch for Bug 280075 this one can be closed, too.

For the record, 2.4.27 does appear to be vulnerable to CAN-2005-0204
and a fix has been applied to svn.

That seems mighty fine to me. Does anyone object?
Also, is there somewhere this new feature should be documented?

You can control what happens in make-kpkg using some hooks provided
by make-kpkg. The 2.6.8 kernel makes of one of these to
add the files you are talking about. I have attached the script to
this mail for your referece. To use this make-dpkg is invoked as:
HEADER_CLEAN_HOOK=header-install make-kpk
Reopened this bug because AFAIK it still applies to 2.4.27. (And
probably a few other kernel versions too.)
