I'm having this issue too.. We're switching from Gentoo to Debian 3.1 in the
datacenter, and all our servers are Dell's, mostly 1850's.. We want to use
kernel 2.6 instead of 2.4, but this is not possible for now.. Isn't this a RC
bug for Debian 3.1?

samba 3.0.14a-4 didn't make the cut for sarge, so this bug is still present
in the release. That being the case, it would be far better to fix this bug
in the kernel instead of in smbfs.

I've found out why the drbd module still got included. The short story is that
a bug in modules_exists() cause it to be included. Full story is in bug
