Hi Mahamina. The iwl4965 mac80211 based driver is in development and might be merged while 2.6.24 development window. I don`t know the backport policy for debian kernels - perhaps someone from kernel team could tell me? - but it could be easyly backported from 2.6.24 to 2.6.23 if the case. -
