Hi I am using toshiba A110-275 laptop as well with Debian Etch 4.0 and to be honest with you I don't have any problems with him. Maybe something is wrong with your CD/DVD drive. I have installed my Debian from netinstall cd. and is working normally since a few months. Only problem which I have
