I have the same problem with amd 9950 4core cpu when copying large amounts of
data from/to the lvm (4x sata HDs).
Using debian 5.0 amd64 with no packages beside official ones.
One workaround for the panic is to edit /etc/xen/xend-config.sxp and change
(dom0-cpus 1)
And also edit every dom

In linux-image-2.6.30-1-amd64 somehow the device discovery at boot time is
messed up:

/dev/sda: 750.2 GB, 750155292160 bytes
/dev/sdb: 1000.2
I now found out what caused the error in my case. It was the driver for
a DVB-C USB-Stick that I installed.
After uninstalling it everything works fine again.
