yes, I can still reproduce the behaviour described above, using the
above test case.
Tested with nfs-common and nfs-kernel-server from sid, 1.2.2-5, kernels
2.6.38 on server and 2.6.37 on client (vanilla both).

The users option got broken with the latest release, despite working
correctly in 1:1.0.10-6+etch.1 (old stable). Non-root users can mount
