I got only 1G of RAM.
What do you think about x32 kernel in debian-ports?

After some more testing it turned out that adding video=radeonfb:off
to the kernel command line fixes the problem and makes modesetting
work on the Mac Mini G4.
The driver is actually blacklisted by default:
