It really looks like it is a kernel problem. Reassigning the bug.
Filippo, does this error still occur with more recent kernel versions
-linux.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/mactel-linux/trunk/kernel )
which contain some changes to applesmc, I can try with a vanilla/debian kernel
in the following days if needed.

Any chance that this patch will be
and rebooting caused snd-powermac to work correctly.
I no longer have an i2c-keywest module.
This was discussed recently on debian-powerpc. A simple workaround is to
add a module alias i2c-keywest for i2c-powermac.
I can confirm this workaround, works here.

Hi,
I was wondering if it would sensible to rename kernel-patch-* to
linux-patch-* to follow current rename from kernel- to linux- (sorry if
this has been discussed before, pointers welcome)
This rename would be good only for linux-related kernel patches, I thought
also about keeping kernel-patch-
of the above modules is
needed by dmraid which does all the trickery by itself. However I'm CC'ing Heinz
Mauelshagen which is the author of dmraid just to be sure this is correct.
Note also that dmraid links to libdevmapper so you may want /lib available as
soon as possible.

there's also tagpending from devscripts which does exactly this :) (the

Hi,
it would be fine to have an option (e.g in /etc/linux-source.conf) to
decompress the .tar.bz2/.tar.gz in background while executing postinst
(of course defaulting to no). I often find myself doing some work on
old /usr/src/linux-source-x.y.z.
