I think I can isolate the problem somehow:

But it breaks when i load the ehci_hcd module.

Using an MSI external USB cd burner, The burning stops at random points, tried
with cdrecord and cdrdao.
tried with cdrecord from woody, sid, sarge, but no use.
The hardware works fine with windows.
