I've been using the AVR-X1000 for a few days now and the problem is no more.
I also realized the AVR-X500 has another issue: the volume of the surround

With the new amplifier all channels have proper volume, without individual

Thanks!
I installed linux-image-5.9.0-0.bpo.5-amd64 and instantly reproduced the issue.
For reference: the amplifier is a Denon AVR-X500. I just purchased a Denon

I receive it.
At this point I'm 99% sure it's the

Considering that I've been using this machine for at least one year and I've
never encountered the issue, I believe the relay in the amplifier is going bad

I have had a freeze using LibreOffice and the last update of Linux in

I think that this bug severity can be raised because it can cause data lost.

I installed RHEL 5.4 on Squeeze with no problems at all. I do not
stressed kvm but it seems to work fine.
The kernel I am using is linux-image-2.6.30-1-amd64 (2.6.30-6).
For me the problem is solved and the bug can by closed.

No luck. The patch I've previously described is already merged in
lenny's kvm-72. Then something must have changed in kvm-85 to make
things work; I will try to find out what in mailing list and changelog.

I have found out something interesting. The attached patch, which I
think should fix the bug, is present in kvm-72 Debian sources but not in
the 2.6.26-2 kernel source. So maybe rebuilding kvm from source cures
the problem; I will test this.

Finally I've find out. The problem is kvm source of package
linux-source-2.6.26 does not include the kvm-66-fix-k7-msr2.patch.
kvm source in package kvm-source 72+dfsg-5 seems to be more up to date;
it includes the k7 patch and more, it seems. Look diffs in the
attachment.
I do not know if this
in my understanding
should contain the MSR_K7 patch. Unstable 2.6.29 is not affected. I
suspect stable also is affected by the bug.
I would like to solve this issue in Debian and can contribute more
details and test if needed.
Best regards
