In my particular case with the RX 7800 XT, I'm stuck with a 1024x768 resolution
on a 4K display.
The issue stems from missing firmware, as seen in dmesg (excerpt below).

Seconding the suggestion for more frequent firmware updates to
better align with the kernel packages.
Maybe these could be provided in experimental/rc-buggy?

I'd also like to support this. The current firmware-amd-graphics is getting
close to being a year old. While of course the Stable branch won't get
up-to-date firmware as that's not the point of firmware, I don't see a
reason at least sid or an experimental branch shouldn't be kept more
up-to-date.
I'd like to ping this issue.
