I've tried building 2.6.25 Sid kernel from sources with my working
.config, resulting
in complete system freeze a few minutes or seconds after starting the
new kernel.
Same result with different config optio

that's quite sad but as aboves gives no hint on where we would perform
that badly nor why those freezes that i cant reproduce happen.
i'd have to close the bug. the only big difference i know about our
kernels is that ubuntu uses a pata driver instead of the old ide ones

please checkout 2.6.26-rc8 from debian linux images,
see apt trunk lines http://wiki.debian.org/DebianKernel
if those are also freezing please send in the working config
for 2.6.26-rc8.
