SATA drives do wake up when reading temperature using hddtemp.

The issue is not related to:
a. kernel (both 2.6.32 and 3.2.0bpo) 
b. hddtemp version (both 0.3-beta15-46 and 0.3-beta15-52)
c. hard drive make and model (both Hitachi and Western Digital)
make the drive to wake up when reading the temperature.

The difference is to which bus/driver the drive is connected to:
I. ata_piix = ok = no drive wake up
II. mpt2sas = not ok = drive wake up

I. $ hdparm -y /dev/sdc && hdparm -C /dev/sdc && hddtemp /dev/sdc && hdparm -C

your bug has been filed against the "linux-2.6" source package and was filed for
a kernel older than the recently released Debian 7.x / Wheezy with a severity
less than important.
