Package: src:linux Severity: wishlist Upstream contains a script called extract-vmlinux at https://github.com/torvalds/linux/blob/master/scripts/extract-vmlinux
It is helpful if you e.g. want to boot Debian linux kernel images >= 3.6 on a Squeeze based Xen Dom0 with pygrub. (With 3.6 the kernel package's compression algorithm seem to have changed and pygrub from squeeze can't decompress the image anymore, hence I need to provide an uncompressed image.) It would be nice if this script could be included in some package built from the linux source. Not sure which binary package would be best suited. I'd suspect linux-tools-*, but then the package description likely would need an update. -- System Information: Debian Release: jessie/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (990, 'unstable'), (600, 'testing'), (400, 'stable'), (110, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 3.12-trunk-amd64 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-kernel-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
