that it works fine with Linux 3.1.
Now is the question, when do we want to do it?

aufs 3.x-rcN-20111024 (aufs3.x-rcN branch) is working fine with 3.1,
also if compiled by gcc-4.6.

We need to bump the compiler before the Wheezy release to 4.6.
Preliminary tests shows that it works fine with Linux 3.1.
Now is the question, when do we want to do it?
