I would like to download a current Debian Live CD, but I do not want to
abuse so much expensive bandwith of this free project.
Is it possible to post at least the 4 current i386 images as BitTorrent
downloads, for example like the official BitTorrent downloads?

you need to set it manually, as your network does not have a dhcpd
(otherwise it would have been assigned on boot time automatically).

we could not reproduce this problem you have described. Can you please
retry with current live-helper (1.0~a18-1) and in case you can reproduce
