change to git - will always increase, which means you don't need
epochs as long as you stay with the svn version numbers.
Version numbers are for people that need to see "0.8.3p3" and

gave a good overview
on different pdf libraries, and I hope with time a decent one will show
up and be used in as many places as possible. Poppler people unfortunately
do everything to make this fail.
